The Education Opportunity Fund supports efforts to improve educational outcomes for students and enables them to overcome barriers to success. Grants will be made to nonprofit organizations with innovative ideas, promising programs, and dedication to the use of data that guides their work. The Fund seeks to partner with organizations that provide students with access, inspiration, academic support and preparation that leads to successful completion of post-secondary education and/or training and certification.
The Fund’s strategy is to:
- Focus on middle, high school, and early postsecondary students, with an emphasis on successful transitions, leading to college completion and/or career preparation
- Support non-profit organizations that provide programs and services to students that accelerate academic achievement, promote life skills and confidence, and create a culture in which students have both the aspiration and ability to succeed in college and career
- Advocate for educational equity and a fair chance of a promising future for all children, regardless of income, ethnicity, or circumstances
- Concentrate on Marin county in California
